About Me
This year is my second year at Treasure Coast Classical Academy, but it is my ninth year teaching middle-school ELA. Prior to joining the faculty at TCCA, I taught middle-school English for four years at Morningside Academy in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Before my tenure at Morningside, I taught middle-school English at Community Christian Academy where my dad was the pastor of the church with which the school was affiliated.
On my own time, I am an avid runner and can be seen running in my nearby area of Stuart during the evenings. I also enjoy camping with my husband, Bryan, and my children, Emma and Sean. I love dogs, and I have a pit bull named Caroline, named after the song, "Sweet Caroline," who is a rescue dog. I also enjoy baking sweet treats for my family. Lastly, I am a photographer, and I spend a lot of time outside of school photographing my family and others in the many beautiful locations that our area has to offer.
I attended Florida Atlantic University receiving my bachelor's degree in Communications and Journalism. With all of the writing that I completed in college, I am passionate that every scholar that sits in my classroom knows how to write in order to prepare each one for his or her chosen future. I facilitate this by teaching a heavier load of grammar than the students may be used to. I do this because I believe that grammar is the foundation of an excellent writer. The rules of grammar must be memorized and used in order to properly write.

Scholars received the information sheet on the creative project that we will spend the next couple of weeks working on in class. This will be done in the classroom using the school laptops. It will be a three-part project which includes the essay, a presentation, and an art piece. Last year, this project was a favorite among the scholars.
Please stress the importance of diligent work on this project to your scholar. Scholars who are absent multiple days or don't work diligently in the classroom will need to work on this essay at home on their own time. The due date is to be determined but will be announced with plenty of time for each scholar to turn in work on time.
Thank you. I look forward to what each scholar is able to create.
